We at Checklist Central are of the opinion that collecting is a hobby and should be treated as such. The detail and work that you put into your hobby are entirely up to you. If you want to get into collecting vintage cards as an investment, more power to you. (By the way, we can checklist those vintage cards for you!)
We are not going to give you much information on how to go about beginning to collect sportscards. We feel that however you decide to collect is the right way for you. We don't presume that because we have been involved in the sportscard collecting hobby for a number of years that we know more than you. We only wish to offer up some simple advice.
Have fun!
Collect wrappers of every Topps Baseball issue if that is what gets you all hot and bothered. It honestly doesn't matter what or how you collect. What matters is that you enjoy it and derive some satisfaction and perhaps, pride, out of your efforts.
So, if you are just getting started in the hobby or you have the hope of passing your collection of Mickey Mantle cards down to your kids and grandkids, we hope you enjoy your time spent with your cards. If you don't there is no sense doing it.
Amazingly, life is like that, too. Find something you like to do and keep doing it!
